Air One was founded in 1983 and has continually expanded in its relatively brief history. In 2007, the airline served over 7.5 million passengers with scheduled and charter flights. The company is continuing to expand its fleet over the next few years, with a large number of existing aircraft orders. After the expansion is complete, the fleet will exceed 100 and be among the largest in Europe. Although the airline currently focuses on domestic flights, they also offer international destinations including Brussles, Copenhagen, Athens and London. Even though Air One is generally referred to with English pronunciation, the name has a double entendre, as the same spelling in Italian means heron, which is the airline's official logo.

Air One Miles & More Frequent Flyer Program

Fly Air One and Earn Rewards with MilleMiglia

Air One travellers can join the Miles and More MilleMiglia frequent flyer programme and earn air miles each time they fly. The programme is free to join and open to all passengers aged 14 years and above; younger children can earn miles on a parent?s account. Air miles are earned all fare classes except Go tickets, but tickets in higher booking classes and flights to international destinations attract more air miles. Miles and More MilleMiglia air miles can also be earned by flying with other SkyTeam carriers and from bookings made for hotel and car rentals with partner companies. Missing air miles can be added to a Miles and More MilleMiglia account within four months of travel. If no miles have been earned in a two-year period, existing miles will expire. How to spend Miles and More MilleMiglia air miles Air miles can be redeemed for tickets or upgrades on Air One and other partner airlines in the programme. Air miles can also be gifted to another person. Members can donate their air miles to charity. Frequent travellers with higher tiers of membership can enjoy extra rewards in the programme, including increased luggage allowances, priority wait listing for flights, and access to Alitalia and SkyTeam lounges, subject to availability.
