A city break to Prague is ideal at any time of the year, with attractions such as music festivals and markets (e.g the Easter Market) running all year round. Summers are warm, with daytime temperatures of around 25 degrees, but there is also more rain, and nights can be cool. In winter the climate is cold, commonly with snow between November and March, providing the perfect setting for the world-famous Christmas markets.

There is a feast of shopping opportunities to be found in Prague! The main shopping area is around Wenceslas Square – the Palladium Centre houses over 200 shops, whilst Parizska Street offers a more exclusive experience. The Old Town Square is home to a permanent market, with traditional craft stalls, and the nearby streets are full of shops selling the famous Czech crystal-ware and hand-made puppets – the perfect souvenirs.

Prague has restaurants to suit every palate, including The Alcron, and La Degustation Boheme Bourgeoise, both of which were recently awarded Michelin stars. There is a myriad of smaller restaurants offering international menus, or specialising in local dishes such as beef goulash or Bohemian stuffed duck. The U Mecenase and the Nebe Wenceslas Square are both popular with the locals, whilst the Medieval Tavern in the Old Town, serves medieval fare, complete with entertainment, for the total experience!

Prague has a lively nightlife for everyone. Visitors can listen to classical music at the castle, or in one of the many concert halls or churches. Opera and ballet are performed regularly, and there is also an incredible assortment of bars and clubs (some open all night), which offer a wide variety of music, ranging from jazz to modern dance. These are to be found in all the main areas of the city, with some lesser known venues also to be found outside the city centre.
