At Canberra airport there is one main terminal that serves domestic flights only as well as a general aviation facility. Most of the regular service is for southeastern Australia, but the airport does handle Melbourne’s and Sydney’s diverted traffic.

Directions

The airport is located at the intersection of Parkes Way / Pialligo Avenue and Monaro Highway / Majura Road near the suburb of Pialligo roughly eight to ten minutes from the city centre. The facility can be reached from the north or the south via ALT23.

Parking

There is both short-term and long-term parking available with the short-term facility in front of the terminal. Currently, there are plans to expand both parking areas by approximately 450 additional parking spaces.

Transport to and from Parking Areas

AirBus shuttles take people from the parking areas to the terminal. Transportation in and out of the airport is by car hire, limousine, shuttle bus or taxi.

You can dine at the Ground Café or enjoy a drink at the Barton Bar and there are several airport lounges as well. There is a post office and currency exchange, as well as plenty of restrooms, telephones and ATMs.
