The Dunedin International Airport can be found 30km south of Dunedin City, New Zealand. To reach the airport, passengers will need to follow State Highway 1 south up until the Allanton turn off. From there, a right turn will need to be taken onto Centre Road, and the Allanton Bridge will need to be crossed. At that point, signs can be followed to lead passengers directly to the airport.
Both international and domestic flights operate through Dunedin International Airport’s terminal. The airport’s terminal has just recently been expanded and now offers more facilities to passengers of all ages.
Several car rental offices from top rental companies like Hertz and Budget are located within the airport. There are also shuttles and taxis, which can be used to travel to and from the airport. The company, Atomic Shuttle, runs a bus from the airport to multiple locations, such as Wanaka and Queenstown.
For automobiles, the airport also offers parking spaces for cars. There is one car park, which is open 24 hours a day. Unlimited car parking is offered and passengers can also receive fifteen free minutes of parking. Moreover, there is also a parking area for rental cars.
While the Dunedin International Airport has no on-site accommodations, there are hotels located not far from the airport. On property, the building does have an airport lounge, The Koru Club, which offers a range of facilities.
Located throughout the airport are banking facilities, baby changing facilities, a pharmacy, restrooms and disabled facilities; including wheelchairs. Additionally, there are also a variety of shops, such as newspaper shops, gift shops, duty-free stores and food areas. For all ages, there are family-friendly entertainment areas found in various locations of the airport.
