Melbourne Airport currently features four terminals that serve both domestic and international flights, with the majority of the international flights leaving out of Terminal 2. Terminal 4 is considered a budget terminal in that it has very few amenities for the traveler and services Jetstar and Tiger Airways. It is the first designated budget airport facility of its kind.
Directions
The airport is located 20km to the northwest of Melbourne centre adjacent to the suburb of Tullamarine and is reached from the north via the C743 (Sunbury Road) and from the south via the M2 (Tullamarine Freeway).
Parking
The airport has four parking facilities - long-term, short-term, multi-level long-term and a business car park. There is also an express car park.
Transport to and from Parking Areas
All parking except for the long-term facility is within a three-minute walk from the terminals. There is a shuttle to transport people to the terminal from the long-term facility. The ride takes about three to five minutes depending on traffic.
Accommodation
There are three lodging facilities on the premises, all within walking distance (up to 600 meters) of the terminals. There is a Hilton and Holiday Inn, as well as the Motel Formule 1.
Facilities
There are numerous amenities and facilities for the traveler at Melbourne Airport including baby-changing facilities, currency exchanges, telephones, public showers, mobile phone rentals and web access kiosks. There are a total of twenty-one restaurants, bars, cafes, snack stands and juice bars. Shopping includes eleven fashion / accessory shops, five bookstores / newsstands, six souvenir shops and three health and beauty shops.
