Previously named Béziers-Agde-Vias Airport, it is currently known as Béziers Cap d’Agde Airport, IATA code BZE and is located in Vias, France. It services the area of Beziers and the coastal resorts of Languedoc and is located 11.5km from the town. There is only one terminal as it handles mostly domestic flights, with the occasional private and non-regular charter.
There are various ways to reach the airport. You can drive, take a taxi, rental car or use the Beziers’ Shuttle service, which is run by Herault Transport. Taxi and car rental services abound, since the area of Languedoc is a recognised tourist destination. The airport shuttle service interconnects with the Herault Transport System, thereby providing the sixty-five towns within the vicinity of Languedoc with easy access. If you decide to drive to the airport from the city of Beziers, take the N112 highway, then turn north on the D37 motorway. Parking is readily available in the airport’s short-term and long-term parking areas.
Beziers Airport has the range of facilities commonly found in most terminals, such as spacious halls for departures and arrivals, boarding lounges and a couple of ticket desks. The airport also provides a free WiFi hotzone.
In 2006 the runway was upgraded from 1,820m long x 30m wide to its present 2,000m x 45m, in order to cope with the larger, more modern aircraft that are coming into service with leading airlines. You can access the airport website and check out other details, including flight arrival and departure information, by going to: http://www.beziers.aeroport.fr/3-13026-Accueil.php.
