Calvi-Sainte-Catherine Airport, IATA code CLY, is situated in Calvi on the island of Corsica, around 6km from the town and is operated by the Chambre de Commerce et D’Industrie de CCI de Bastia et de la Haute-Corse. The airport terminal handles French domestic and international flights. It also has a separate freight terminal for cargo and other bulk materials that are needed for the island.
Access to the airport is easy, either by private car or public transport. Coach services from cities such as Galeria, Bastia, Ile Rousse and Calenzania operate regularly. There is also the Corsican Railway Service that links the airport to the major cities in the island. If you are driving, there is an excellent national motorway system that links various parts of the island. Taxi and car rental companies are also available throughout the whole island.
The airport has parking areas for around 200 vehicles and they charge according to the length of time you are parked. There is a range of parking fees, starting at one hour and going up to one year. This is perfect for those who go on extended stays off the island.
Calvi Airport has a centralised information system that updates passengers on arrivals, departures and other travel information. As with most other airports around the world, Calvi has its own share of bars, restaurants and duty free shops that offer local as well as international products and cuisine.
Facilities and other services can be viewed at the airport’s website http://www.calvi.aeroport.fr/AeroportCal/accueilAeroCal.php.
There are no hotels actually at the airport, but a wide choice is available in Calvi.
