Edinburgh Airport is located about eight miles west of the City. It is close to both the M8 and M9 motorways and is accessed from the A8 Glasgow Road. There are ‘Pick Up’ and ‘Set Down’ car parking areas for those waiting for just a few moments, together with short-stay and long-stay car parking. The long-stay car park is served by a courtesy bus and is just a short distance from the terminal. Car parking can be booked online. Several of the prominent car rental companies have offices at the airport, and their desks can be found in the UK Arrivals area of the terminal.
The airport is very well served by public transport, including bus and coach services to and from the City Centre or the Edinburgh Shuttle minibus service. There are also two taxi ranks at the eastern end of the terminal – one for private taxis and one for the City’s ‘black cabs’.
Shoppers are well catered for with stores offering electrical goods, perfume, beauty products and fashion. There are also chemists and newsagents/booksellers for those vital last-minute holiday necessities.
The airport has a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars offering everything from a seafood feast to a quick cup of coffee and a croissant.
For those travelling on business, there is a business lounge offering desks with telephones and wireless internet access. There are also Internet desks dotted around the terminal, where PCs are available with broadband connections.

For those requiring accommodation, there are two hotels next to the airport – the Hilton and the Quality Hotel. There are also many other hotels very close by, several of which offer transport to and from the airport.
