Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe Airport (airport code: FKB) is also called Baden Airpark or Baden-Baden Airport. It is situated 15 km from Baden Baden and about 35 km from Karlsruhe. This is an international airport with 2 terminals and 10 airport stands. Its operating hours start at 6 a.m. and end at 11 p.m.

Although it’s not so large, the annual capacity of this airport is 1,500,000 passengers. It has 20 check-in desks and 3 baggage claim areas. Karlsruhe Airport has long-term parking space for 3,000 vehicles and short-term parking space for 200 vehicles.

Baden Airpark offers quite a number of facilities for an airport of its size. It has several restaurants, cafes, and bars. A bistro is also located in the Baden Airport Gastronomie GmbH. Guests can do some shopping at the Travel Value Shop. The airport provides a small cinema and a play area for kids. ATMs are found near the Departure terminal, and internet can be accessed at different points throughout the terminal.

Business facilities are not available in the airport. However, if you need fax and telephone services, you can get assistance from the information desk. Baden Airpark’s facilities have access for the disabled, and wheelchairs are readily available. If you need assistance, you can inform the airport staff in advance as you book your flight.

From the airport, you have several transportation options. You can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside the terminal building or you can also take a bus. There are buses that travel regularly from the airport to the city center and vice versa. Limousine services are also available.

There are numerous hotels in Baden Baden and some run shuttles to and from the airport. The Dorint Resort Maison Messmer is quite luxurious whilst the Express by Holiday Inn is a bit more affordable.

When driving to the airport, just take A5 Karlsruhe/Basel. Proceed to the Baden Baden exit and follow the airport signs.
