Directions: Kristiansund International airport is situated about ten kilometres to the west of the central part of the Kristiansund town. That region is known as Møre og Romsdal county. The airport got its name from the nearby mountain. The mountain is known as the Kvernberget Mountain.
Kvernberget International Airport has two terminals. Companies operating flights from Kristiansund Airport include Scandinavian Airlines, Adria Airways (JP), Balkan Holidays, Luftransport and Møre Flyklubb.
The second terminal is the helicopter terminal and the bulk of the traffic in this terminal comes from CHC Helikopter Company.
The airline terminal includes two restaurants. The restaurants are known as the Picnic Cafe and the Point. The menu is comprised mainly of quick light snacks, salads and a wide selection of alcoholic beverages including wines, liquor and beer. In addition to food and drinks, the Point has a news stand stacked with books, newspapers and magazines.
In addition to the two restaurants, there is a Duty Free store at the airport which is open to International travellers. Items to be found there include duty free alcoholic beverages, perfumes, tobacco and snacks.
Wireless LAN, telephone booths, flight display monitors and news stands are found throughout both terminals. Other amenities include the SAS ticket and information desk which is situated at the check in hall of the terminal as well as an ATM.
Parking is available adjacent to the main terminal building. Parking fees vary between the long-term and short-term car parks.
A bus service is available from the airport to nearby hotels and towns. Bernstorffstredet 1 Kristiansund 6509 and Hauggt 16 Kristiansund all have such services running.
