Stockholm-Skavsta Airport is the second largest in Stockholm and the third largest in Sweden. The annual capacity is approximately 3,000,000 passengers. There are 16 check-in desks, 4 gates and 2 baggage claim belts to accommodate the volume of travellers.

The airport offers a wide variety of food and drinks in the ‘Foodhall’. It is open 24 hours a day. They serve breakfast, home made sandwiches, freshly prepared hot wok dishes and daily specials. The coffee shop serves a range of coffee, beer, as well as other beverages and pastries. There is a bar located in the departure hall. They sell draught and bottled beer, wine, spirits, grilled sandwiches, filled pies and coffee.

Shoppers will find an airside shop once they have passed through the Security control area. You will find perfumes and skin care up to 25% cheaper than High Street prices. Alcohol and tobacco can only be purchased by travellers outside the EU. There are also confectionaries, souvenirs, accessories, books magazine and gifts at affordable prices. There is also a tourist help desk available. Travellers with young children might enjoy the parent/baby room. The airport also provides disabled access and facilities.

The Forex Bank gives the best exchanges rates and lowest commission when compared to other banks. They accept both foreign currency and credit cards. The Forex is located opposite the Security Check. Next to the Forex is an ATM where you can choose to withdraw Swedish, Kronor, Euro or Sterling.

Buses are also available for travel to and from the airport. The ride to the City Terminal in Stockholm is approximately 90 minutes and costs 150 SEK, 249 SEK for the return. The airport also offers coaches. The train station is 7 km away. It is accessible by using a fixed rate taxi approximately 200 EK or the local bus number 515 or 715 for SEK 21 to/from the train station. Travel time on the train to Stockholm is 60 min and costs approximately 118 SEK. Taxis must be ordered in advance and takes about 60 minutes to reach down town. The cost is approximately 1300 SEK. Car rental agencies include Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Short term parking is costs 30 SEK per hour. The cost for long term parking is between 40 and 90 SEK per day depending on the length of stay.
