Deer Lake Airport is located off the Trans Canada Highway where Route 430, the Northern Peninsula intersects with the Trans Canada Highway. The airport sits just beyond the town limits of Deer Lake and is only about 30 minutes from Corner Brook in Western Newfoundland. Many people from Deer Lake and Corner Brook are employees of the airport authority.

The terminal building houses a secure area with seating for 75 people. Six car rental agencies have counters in the terminal. There are televisions, a play area, a restaurant, bar and gift shop for passengers. A car park includes 325 spaces, the airport administration and a flight service. The terminal includes a large cafeteria-style public restaurant, retail outlets, newspaper and magazine stands and a large gift shop. The airport has Internet connections through Aliant’s new high-speed Wi-Fi access zone. Deer Lake Airport is the tourism center for the cities of Deer Lake, Corner Brook and Pasdena.

Short-term parking rates are $1.00 an hour up to a maximum of $5.00 plus tax. Parking seven days costs $25.00. Corner Brook offers an Airport Shuttle to Pasadena for $16.00. Taxi service and car rentals are available at counters in the terminal complex.

Accommodation in the area is plentiful. The Deer Lake Motel is situated just off the main highway close to the airport and is a comfortable and convenient stopping place.
