Cheap flights to Edmonton International Airport (EIA)
Posted on: July 22nd, 2008 by adminUnlike most airports in the world there is no street address for EIA, however as one travels along Queen Elizabeth II Highway the directions appear on the road signs. The airport is a little west of the highway and about 30 kilometers south of downtown. It is near the town of Nisku, approximately 17 kilometers south of the Edmonton city limits. Check the airport website for directions from your present location.
The flight schedules, ticket prices and other necessary information are available by contacting the Airlines directly. Meet arriving passengers in the baggage carousel area, only, because of security regulations. Check http://www.flyeia.com/flights/arrivals for times and gates of all arriving flights.
The airport provides all the standard amenities of International Airports. No public transit exists between Edmonton and the Airport. However, Sky Shuttle vans offer transportation from Edmonton to the Airport from several locations, call 465-8515 for information and rates. A new Marriott Hotel with 216 rooms, restaurants, shopping outlets and new terminal services opened in 2007.
All Canadian passengers, both adult and children must have a valid passport if traveling to the United States. Contact U.S. Customs and Border Protection if in need of additional information. The airport provides protection for thousands of passengers, guests and nearly 70 airlines, agencies and other service providers with the help of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other authorities.
Nearly 3000 parking spaces are available including Value Parking. Web check- in is available online with some airlines and self-serve check-in Kiosks are available within the terminal.
