Less than a mile from Prestwick, Glasgow Prestwick Airport can be reached from the A79 motorway. Bus and coach services link the airport with Glasgow City centre. During the daytime, the X77 service operates every thirty minutes from the airport to Glasgow City centre. Trains depart from Glasgow rail station to the airport every 30 minutes.

Prestwick airport has one main terminal. From the airport, passengers can take flights to over 20 destinations. It handles over 1.9 million passengers a year.

The short-stay parking area is close to the terminal. For short stays of five minutes there is no charge. Mid and long-stay parking areas are within walking distance from the nearby railway station. A wheelchair-friendly shuttle service operates between the parking areas and the terminal.

There are cash dispensers, both before and after security, which accept all valid UK cards. Those who have some time to spare can spend a happy hour browsing in outlets such as Peckhams, Alpha Retail-Scottish Presence, and WH Smith. WH Smith’s two stores offer best-sellers, travel guides, soft drinks and confectionery. Refreshments are provided by Yates, Starbucks and Hot Food.

Passengers who require accommodation near the airport will find a number of guest houses and hotels close to Prestwick airport. Of these, Parkstone Hotel and Muirhouse Lodge are wonderful places to spend a few days.
