Halifax airport is 30 – 45 minutes from downtown Halifax on Highway 102 about 35 kilometers distant. Take Exit 6 off Hwy.102 and the airport parking area is straight ahead. The airport provides long-term, Park’NFly and metered parking at equitable rates and 24 hour security. Parking information is available at: http://www.halifaxairport.com/parkit.

Transportation from the airport is via rental cars, taxis, limos or bus service. Passengers will find assistance at the Airport Visitor Information Centre in the terminal.

Halifax International Airport Authority manages the airport, which is open around the clock. The airport is a full-service airport with all the amenities available in other International Airports and serves about 3.4 million passengers annually.

The Airport is the only airport offering pre-clearance to the United States. Passengers on non-stop flights to the U. S. can go directly to the Pre-clearance Facility at the north end of the building. These passengers can proceed through U.S. Customs and Border Protection before departing.

Airport Arrivals are on the ground level of the terminal as are the ticket counters, restaurants and shops. The departures for domestic and International flights are on the south end of the ground level. Baggage check, tickets and boarding passes are available in this same area. The departures area is on the second level.

A Security Checkpoint is in the center of the ground floor. Domestic flight passengers claim luggage at the north end of this level. Customs and Immigration requires clearance for all Passengers from outside Canada. For information about Airlines, contact the airline, directly.
