The town of Kahului is about three miles east of the airport, which has one terminal and two intersecting runways. Kahului Airport provides facilities for twelve airlines serving domestic, overseas and Inter-Island flights. Among the airlines operating direct flights from the mainland are United, Island Air, Pacific Wings, Hawaiian Airlines and Continental. There are regular inter-island flights from Honolulu International Airport to Kahului.

The airport has no on-site accommodation, however there are several low-rise hotels located within five miles. Please note that the closest resorts and large hotels are a long drive to the north or south shore areas of Maui. Ground transportation is available by taxi, limo, rental car and door-to-door Shuttles. Share-a-ride is another way to get around in Kahului, but be aware that time spent picking up other passengers, until the van is full, could cause you to miss your flight.

The airport has a cell phone lot for drivers waiting for arriving passengers. Passenger parking is at off-site parking lots where shuttles operate to and from the terminal.
