Cheap flights to Berlin-Schönefeld (Schoenefeld) International Airport (SXF)
Posted on: August 4th, 2008 by adminThe Berlin-Schoenefeld International Airport, which is also known by its airport code of SXF, can be found in Schönefeld which is a town in Brandenburg, Germany. Regarded as “The Holiday Airport” because it caters mostly to international charter flights, the airport is the only one that serves the region of East Berlin and it was once East Germany’s main civil airport. It has one terminal that is comprised of halls A, B, C and D. Most of the airlines that use the airport arrive and depart from the terminal’s Hall A.
Short-term parking is available at the airport’s parking area 2. The first ten minutes are free and then three euros are charged for each additional 20 minutes. 24-hour parking costs €6. There is long-term parking at P1 and P6 as well as a multi-level garage at P4 while P3 is for bus parking. You can also reach the SXF airport from the Berlin-Schönefeld Flughafen railway station which is just a short distance away from the terminal. This is Berlin S-Bahn’s terminus for lines S45 and S9.
There is a broad range of facilities available at the Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport and these include airport-information help-desks, shops, restaurants, a first-aid station, lounges, VIP service, café and snack bars, a lost-and-found service and wireless LAN.
