Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, which serves Istanbul, was named after the first Turkish woman ever to fly a military aircraft.

Gaziantep Oguzeli airport opened 1976, with construction work on an extension commencing in 1998. It gained international status two years ago and now has three airlines operating services. Gaziantep Airport is situated approximately 15km to the south east of the city.
