Airlines contributing most to air pollution
Posted on: May 8th, 2008 by George RobertsA new estimate has shattered every one’s attention regarding the carbon dioxide emissions by the airlines and according to this estimate; there is 20% augmentation in the carbon dioxide emission by this so called comfort machines. As the data is concerned it suggests the emissions can touch the ratio between 1.2 billion and 1.5 billions tones. In a study it has been found that noise coming from the aircrafts is affecting people badly and it is considered that by the year 2025 the noise will touch the ratio of 30.3 million which is currently 24 million.
The production of nitrogen oxide by the aircraft will go up to 6.1millom tones by the year 2025 and currently it is 2.5 million tones. The US department of transport has predicted that the presence of carbon dioxide will increase from 670 million tones up to 1.48 billion by the year 2025.
The aviation industry, meant to control the air pollution, is going to face a great problem by the increment of the carbon dioxide and it claims that the growth of the high technology will result in a great ratio of emission of carbon dioxide which will be contributed by Airlines in great quantity.
Showing a positive step in control of traffic pollution, International Air Transport Association that represents 240 airlines informs that it is working to bind a target in terms of reducing the carbon dioxide emission by the Airlines.
