Withdrawal from San Luis Obispo Airport announced by Delta Airlines
Posted on: June 28th, 2008 by Andrew RobertsA second significant carrier said “goodbye” to San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport recently.
American carrier Delta Airlines has stated it will no longer be servicing San Luis Obispo Airport starting September 1.
The main US airline, which just commenced offering daily flight services a year ago, is “withdrawing due to the continuing increase of fuel costs.
The announcement comes less than 24 hours after the other significant carrier American Airlines revealed plans to pull out of the Californian airport this November.
Nevertheless, an unnamed official of San Luis Obispo remains positive.
“We do not anticipate shutting down at all. This is truly a negative outlook, if you will. We are on the other side,” noted Craig Piper, Assistant Airport Manager.
U.S. Airways and United Airlines will continue operating flight services out of the airport.
