Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (airport code PHX) is the main international airport in the state of Arizona. It is located five kilometres east of the central business district of Phoenix.
If you are driving then the airport provides numerous parking options including a Cell Phone Waiting Lot, terminal garages, economy lots and economy garages.
The airport can also be reached by various forms of public transportation, including vans, buses and the statewide shuttle.
The airport serves as the primary hub for locally based US Airways. It is also a major hub for Great Lakes Airlines and Southwest Airlines. British Airways is the only carrier to provide services to London-Heathrow. In total over 20 airlines provide services from Sky Harbor, and passengers can fly to over 100 domestic destinations non-stop. The airport also provides service to private planes and various cargo companies. The airport features three terminals (2, 3 and 4) with a total of 121 gates.
The usual services (rental cars, hotel information, shopping etc.) are all available at Sky Harbor. Additionally, they have some special features such as their two “pet parks” for people travelling with their pets and a “military hospitality room” for military personnel and veterans.
Several hotels in the area provide a free travel service to and from the airport for their customers. Adjacent to the baggage claims centre is a cost free telephone to contact the local hotels and resorts.
