Haneda is a major hub for the country’s large domestic airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. In fact, almost all domestic flights to and from Tokyo go through here. They also serve passengers of Skymark Airlines and Hokkaido International Airlines, which are discount carriers. Within recent years, the airport’s international service has increased as well due to the advent of many “scheduled charter” flights to South Korea and the Peoples Republic of China.
The airport also houses cargo facilities and a special VIP area which is often used for flights carrying foreign dignitaries and heads of state. Sometimes, it is also used for the “Japanese Air Force One”.
The Banquet Hall Hotel is situated in the airport terminal.
