Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates and is one of the country’s main cites. It has the largest population 1,422,000 after Abu Dhabi and over half of these are male. Arabic is the main language spoken. It is situated on the Persian Gulf coast and shares its borders with Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Sultanate of Oman. Dubai climate is hot and humid with maximum temperatures reaching 41C in the summer (Aug) and lows of 14.3 C in winter (Jan). Rainfall occurs mainly between December and March with very little through the rest of the year.
