Frankfurt is the 5th largest city in Germany, situated on the River Main in the south west of Germany. It has a population of 667,598 and is the financial and transportation centre of Germany. The city is one of only four major European cities that have skyscrapers. German is the local language spoken. Historic sites to visit in the city are The Stadel, Senckenberg Museum, and Schirn Art Gallery. Frankfurt is famous also for its many festivals, including The Sound of Frankfurt. It has many famous and historic Museums. Frankfurt is also know to have been the roots of modern Techno music in the early 1990’s.
